The word "sensor" comes from the latin word "sensus", which means "sense" and was first used to describe the capabilities of the sensing organs, then adopted by the technical systems. The sensors are able to identify, in certain conditions and limitations, the parameters of the ambient and to react to these changes. In other words, sensors are technical devices which "endow" the maschines and equipments with senses.
