Asynchronous engines

Asynchronous electric engines are equipments of AC for which the speed in loading conditions and the frequency of the network to which it is linked are not in a constant ratio. They are best used in actuators with AC machines. The charactheristic of the asynchronous engines is that the rotation speed is slightly different from the rotating field's speed. They can operate as a generator or as an engine. The wide use they have is as electric engines (in three phase current). They are preferred over other types of engines because of their simpler and less expensive construction
