Hot melts are well established in most markets we serve because of the advantage of fast processing. Unlike water-based or solvent-based adhesives, hot melt adhesives do not require drying. Hot melts are installed as quickly as they can cool down to their solidification point. This fast solidification is ideal for use on highly automated production lines that require fast bonding.

Types:

PRESSURE SENSITIVE (PSA)

A hot pressure-sensitive melt is a formulation that remains open endlessly after it is applied. The advantage of this type of adhesive is that you can cover large surfaces and not worry about the open time before gluing the substrates. A PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) adhesive has a wide range of substrates and can be used in applications from small product assembly to large-scale manufacturing.

EVA

The most commonly used hot melt adhesive, which is widely used for packing and assembling products. The general substrates of EVA adhesive include wood, foam, paper, and some plastics. EVA ranges from 250 ° F to 350 ° F and can withstand freezing temperatures. EVA adhesives offer the largest range of products for "hard to bind" substrates.

METALLOCENE (MET)

The hot melts from the metallocene adhesive did not smell, have extremely clean combustion and offer exceptional stability of the equipment. A metallocene adhesive is recommended for applications where hot melting will be placed in pots for long periods of time or where sawdust and string have been a problem. While the hot melting of the metallocene is a little more expensive compared to the low-cost EVA formulations, there can be significant savings for the maintenance of equipment and spare parts. Also, the metallocene allows a shorter application time, because the equipment should not be cleaned or cleaned as often.
